  1. Acceptance of Terms
    By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you choose to log in using Google or Facebook OAuth authentication, you also agree to comply with Google’s and Meta's own terms and security policies respectively.
  2. User Authentication and Accounts
    • Google Identity Services and Facebook Login: We use Sign in with Google and Facebook Login to securely authenticate your identity and simplify account creation.
    • Account Creation: When you register via Google or Facebook OAuth, we collect only your primary email address permitted by your Google data permissions or Meta permissions respectively to create your account.
    • Security: We never see or store your Google account password or Facebook account password. Authentication is processed entirely through secure Google Authorization Servers and Meta Authentication Servers respectively.
  3. Data Authorization and Scopes
    • Requested Scopes: Our website will only request access to the specific data scopes necessary to provide our services. You will be prompted by Google or Facebook to review and consent to these scopes before access is granted.
    • Token Management: We handle all OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens via secure protocols. These tokens are strictly used to fulfill the features you interact with and are never shared with unauthorized third parties.
    • Revocation: You can revoke our website's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Security settings or your Facebook account via your Meta account settings. You may also revoke your social media account access by using the disconnect features provided in your Family Tree social media connections settings.
  4. Prohibited Conduct
    You agree not to bypass, disable, or interfere with any security features of our OAuth implementation. You may not use a false identity or manipulate redirect URIs to gain unauthorized data access.
  5. Termination
    We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our website if we detect security anomalies, fraudulent token manipulation, or violations of the Google API Services User Data Policy.
